Hello
I'm Megan Verno, CMHC, and I believe in the transformative power of change. I'm a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor dedicated to creating a safe space where you feel seen and heard as we navigate life's challenges together.
Whether you're experiencing the pain of religious deconstruction, grappling with trauma, or seeking to reconnect with your partner through improved communication and emotional attunement, I'm here to support you.
My Story
I hold a Master’s of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Westminster College and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology from UVU. My training encompasses psychodynamic, interpersonal, and group therapy, and I'm a member of the LGBTQ+ Therapy Guild of Utah. My research has focused on religious disaffiliation, and I've developed a "Break Free" group specifically for individuals leaving high-demand religions. (Please inquire for more details about this supportive, educational, and transformational group.) My therapeutic approach is interpersonal, viewed through an existential lens. I utilize trauma-informed, reality-based methods, along with DBT, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness-based stress reduction, EMDR, and other relevant evidence-based therapies. I have experience counseling clients facing complex trauma, religious trauma, identity and existential crises, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, perfectionism, OCD, ADHD, and substance abuse.
I'm passionate about working alongside you as you embark on the powerful transformation that can occur within the therapeutic relationship. I value your authenticity and unique story, and I'm committed to empowering you to build a life that honors both. I deeply believe in the healing power of compassion, mindfulness, and being a therapeutic witness to your pain, your healing, and your growth. I would be honored to work with you.
