Hello
I'm Jaclyn Kahrs, LCSW, and I understand that life can bring its share of difficult and painful moments. I’m passionate about helping you navigate those times, find healing, and rediscover what brings you joy.
Growth and lasting change is possible—whether you’re struggling with depression or anxiety, or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself. I would be honored to join you on that journey. Starting therapy is a courageous step, and I’m committed to creating a space where you feel seen, validated, and empowered to move toward what truly matters to you. I provide LGBTQ-affirming care, offering a supportive space for both individuals and couples.
My Story
I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals in a variety of settings, including my experience as a therapist at the Utah State Prison. My clinical focus includes substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, grief and loss, as well as shame and guilt. I utilize evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and EMDR. I am also IFS-informed (though not certified) and incorporate it into therapy when appropriate.
When I’m not in the office, you can find me hiking the beautiful trails throughout the state with my dog, exploring national parks, and traveling across the country. For a more relaxed pace, I enjoy reading, embroidery, watercolor, and playing video games with my brothers.
Freckle Bio
This is Freckle, and she comes to the office most days. Greeting people, getting attention, and enjoying belly rubs are what motivate this pup. She is quite smart and knows many tricks—and when treats are present, she’ll happily run through all of them.
Although she is not a trained therapy dog, she has a natural ability to sense when people are upset and will often try to offer comfort—or simply encourage a few pets, which can be soothing in and of itself. Most of the time, you’ll find her curled up in her bed, quietly sleeping during sessions.
If you are not a fan of dogs or have allergies, I will be sure to keep her away and respect your boundaries.
