Hello

Life can feel overwhelming at any age. You may be struggling with anxiety or depression, having difficulties in your relationships, feeling misunderstood or disconnected from the people you care about, or trying to adjust to changes in your family, school, work, health, or everyday life. Sometimes you may simply know that something isn't working and you're not sure how to make it better.

I am a Certified Social Worker (CSW), and I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating a variety of emotional, relationship, and life challenges. I believe therapy should be a place where you can be yourself, feel heard without judgment, and work through difficult things at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and person-centered. I don't believe therapy is about someone telling you what you should do. Instead, I see therapy as a partnership. You bring your experiences, strengths, values, and knowledge of your own life, and I provide support, perspective, and practical tools that can help you better understand what you're experiencing and decide what changes you would like to make.

My Story

I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed approaches. Depending on your needs, we may work on managing anxiety and difficult emotions, developing healthier coping skills, improving communication, building confidence, setting boundaries, navigating grief or change, strengthening relationships, and finding healthier ways to handle conflict and stress.

When working with adolescents, I recognize how important it is for young people to have a space where they feel respected and heard. Adolescence can bring challenges involving identity, friendships, family relationships, school, expectations, independence, anxiety, and self-confidence. My goal is to build a trusting relationship while also helping adolescents develop skills they can carry with them into adulthood.

When working with couples and families, I strive to create an environment where each person has an opportunity to be heard and understood. Relationships can become stuck in patterns of miscommunication, frustration, hurt, or disconnection. Rather than focusing on who is to blame, we can look at what is happening within the relationship, identify existing strengths, and work toward healthier communication, greater understanding, and stronger connection.

My professional background has also given me experience supporting people through grief and loss, caregiving, chronic illness, aging, family stress, and significant life transitions. I earned my Master of Social Work degree and completed graduate internships with the Office of Aging in Orem and a home health and hospice organization in Murray. These experiences reinforced for me how much our relationships, circumstances, and life experiences can affect our emotional well-being.
