EMDR Therapy
Several of our clinicians are EMDR-trained. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps your brain reprocess distressing or traumatic memories so they feel like the past instead of the present. Because it doesn’t rely on detailed retelling, many people find it a gentler way to work through hard experiences. We offer EMDR in Lehi, Payson, and by telehealth across Utah — always at a pace that feels safe. EMDR is one of the core tools in our broader trauma & PTSD care.

Frequently asked
What is EMDR and how does it work?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) uses brief sets of guided bilateral stimulation — like side-to-side eye movements — while you briefly recall a distressing memory. Over time, the memory loses its emotional charge, so it feels like something that happened rather than something happening now. It’s an evidence-based therapy for trauma and PTSD.
Do I have to talk about every detail of what happened?
No. One reason many people find EMDR helpful is that it doesn’t require detailed retelling of what happened. Your therapist moves at your pace and keeps the work within your window of tolerance.
What can EMDR help with besides trauma?
Alongside trauma and PTSD, EMDR can help with anxiety, panic, phobias, grief, and the negative beliefs about yourself that painful experiences can leave behind. Your therapist will talk through whether it’s a good fit for what you’re carrying.
